He was a World War II veteran and a Korean War veteran from Mexico, Pampanga. Regino Nacua immigrated to the U.S. in 1992 under the Immigration Act of 1990 allowing Filipino veterans to naturalize. He filed petitions for his family members at 64 years old, but it would have taken several years for visa petitions to become current. Already old and sickly, he wanted his children to be able to join him in the U.S. to give them a better future.
Through the Filipino World War II Parole Program, he filed parole for his children, and soon his son Robert Nacua was able to make it to the U.S. to be with him and take care of him. He now awaits the rest of his family to be able to join him in America.
