While the Trump administration has decided to spare hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants from deportation — through a program called DACA — it has eliminated an Obama-era program called DAPA, that would have provided deportation relief to undocumented parents of US citizens and legal permanent residents.
There has also been a massive backlog in immigration courts — over half a million cases and each one, on average, takes almost two years to close.
